Twinflower is a film and long-form essay about the twinflower, a tiny flower which is rare and endangered in Scotland and found growing in Scots pinewoods. The work considers the act of seeking the flower, and moves on to the nature of what it is to name and categorise, using its Latin name, Linnaea borealis (named after Carl Linnaeus) to consider this tiny plant’s connection to histories of economic botany and botanical collections, migration, colonialism and ecological histories of place.
