Dead amongst the living currently consists of digital photographs, etchings, bookworks, video and sound, and is about the deadwood found walking an area of Caledonia pine forest in the north of Scotland.
My contribution to the Ashden Directory Project
New Metaphors for Sustainability (also found on
Ashdenizen) describes the significance of these dead trees for me, and outlines some of the rationale behind this project. Some of the elements of Dead Amongst the Living formed part of the last years
Several Forests exhibition, and the work will continue to develop as part of my PhD.
